Individual Diagnosis in Clinical Case Formulations
C. Pace Duckett, M.D., 2 1:15 to 4:30 pm $50 3CE
This workshop is designed to help the family systems oriented practitioner understand the importance of individual-level assessment or diagnosis and to learn strategies for integrating this information into a comprehensive systemic case formulation. The major DSM-IV TR child and adolescent diagnostic categories are reviewed, along with their critical distinguishing features. In addition, attention is given to several of the more established rating scales which are used to facilitate the diagnostic process, such as the Child Behavior Checklist, the Child Global Functioning Index, the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale and the Global Assessment of Family Functioning Scale.
