Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy: An Evidence-Based Approach

A historical overview of theoretical foundations of the Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) model is provided. Core constructs of the model are described and contrasted with other family therapy models. Brief videotaped case segments illustrate the model’s development. Empirical research describes the clinical effectiveness of ESFT with children and adolescents having severe emotional and behavioral disturbance.
