Sexual Abuse in a Family Context

Ann Itzkowitz, M.A., LMFT, 2 1:15 am to 4:30 pm $50 3CE

Sexual abuse issues are often intertwined with other problems presented by families in treatment. These difficulties may be covert or overt and surface occasionally or almost daily. This workshop focuses on understanding, assessing and intervening with the myriad conflicts that are expressed in sexual abuse. Identification of symptoms, related psychopathology and adaptive or non-adaptive family patterns are discussed. Assessment and intervention strategies with both victims of incest and adolescent sex offenders are presented.
