Dr. Lindblad-Goldberg is an expert on eco-systemic structural family therapy, supervision, step-families, single parent families, and spontaneity in therapy. She has specialized in innovative research with single parent families, writing numerous articles about this subject. From 1987 to 1994, Dr. Goldberg served as a trainer and directed the technical assistance and Training Initiative for the State of Pennsylvania's Mental Health Family-Based Services Training Initiative; since 1994, Dr. Goldberg has directed and served as a trainer in the Mental Health Family-Based Training Initiative in the Central, Northeast and Southeast portions of Pennsylvania.
She was on the staff of Philadelphia Child Guidance Center for 23 years and was a senior trainer in its Family Therapy Training Center for 20 years. Her primary responsibilities for twelve years were on the inpatient unit as clinician, supervisor, chief of clinical services and unit director. Mrs. Itzkowitz' areas of expertise include a family/systems approach to work with children in placement, professional burn-out, treatment of adolescents, and home-based training, which she has been doing since 1989. Mrs. Itzkowitz has presented extensively at local, regional and national conferences. In addition, she was on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and chaired its Committee on Supervision.
